How do I book live event caricatures?Â
In order to book, please first reach out to us using our email kittycowgirldraws@gmail.com or use the form on our contact page to confirm our availability on your date. We will respond promptly confirming availability and details, and will request a $50 deposit (to be counted toward your final total payment) to confirm your booking and get your event officially added to our calendar. Further details about booking and payment are available via contact!
How much do live event caricatures cost?
We charge an industry-standard hourly fee for live event caricatures. In general, we require a two-hour minimum, and for events over 100 miles from our zip code (50313), additional travel fees may apply. Our current rate is available upon request.
How many drawings can you do per hour?
Each of our artists works at a rate of a few minutes a face. Therefore, we can draw about 15-20 faces per hour. Since the amount of people in each drawing will fluctuate, the number of drawings will, too! We find the best drawings have 1-4 people in them for accurate details, but we can fit more upon request; bear in mind that the more people are in each drawing, the less total unique drawings per hour. We love working as a dynamic duo, so for large events, consider booking both artists to get double the faces drawn!
Do you offer caricature commissions?
We generally have open books for commissions and typically offer a per-person rate that is similar to our public live event rates. We will work off of good quality, in-focus photos (your cell-phone snaps are usually a-okay)! Use our email kittycowgirldraws@gmail.com or our contact form to let us know your ideas for commissions, and we'll be in touch promptly with our rate.
Can you draw kids/toddlers/babies?
We are family-friendly and can work with all ages, even wiggly toddlers! Not only is our work fast, we love working with kids and families! We are quick and flexible for all our "models".
What is your set-up and what are your supplies for private events?
We typically draw on 11"x17", thick art paper using black markers. Each artist brings a collapsible desk or easel, and we offer plastic bags to roll our art up in. We can offer bags with chipboard backing to keep drawings flat upon request. For one artist, about a 6'x6' area is needed, around a 10'x10' is preferred for two artists. However, we are happily flexible with your space - we have set up in smaller areas where needed. We can work both indoors and outdoors. We typically ask that private events spare a few chairs for artists and models. We have the capacity to provide our own tent or chairs upon request.
What are your qualifications?
Both of our artists have been event caricaturists for years and both got their start doing live drawings at an amusement park. We have between 6-10 years of professional caricature experience, have both travelled to work professionally drawing caricatures, and both have experience doing live airbrushing, color-stick, and traditional drawings. We've worked various weddings, community events, festivals, fairs, parties and more! Additionally, we've both studied visual arts at the post-secondary level.
